Product Overview
The Senfey ES-WS2811-30-12V is the sparse-pitch WS2811 LED strip in our addressable range, specified for signage, facade outlines, and long perimeter runs read from a distance. The driver IC sits outside the emitter packages and governs one pixel per group of three, so a metre resolves to 10 controllable pixels. That is a deliberate trade, not a compromise: fewer emitters per metre means roughly half the current draw of the 60-emitter version, so a single feed carries much further before voltage drop shows at the far end. On a roof line or a signboard perimeter that decides how many power drops the electrician has to run.
Best For — Which Projects This Fits
Building outlines and facade animation. Roof lines, signboard perimeters, and garden features viewed from 5–20 m, where the effect is carried by motion — chase, wave, meteor, comet trail — rather than by emitter spacing. At those distances the pitch is invisible and the pixel count stays manageable for the controller, as in our media facade addressable strip project.
Channel letters and large signboards. Per-pixel chases and gradients inside letter cans, driven from standard signage control gear on the same 12V bus the rest of the sign already uses.
Long runs with few power drops. This is the practical reason to choose this pitch. Lower current per metre means longer spans between injection points, which cuts cable, cuts drops, and simplifies the containment on a facade where every penetration is a cost and a leak path.
High pixel-count shows. Ten pixels per metre keeps a large installation inside a controller’s channel budget, so a long run can sit on one universe instead of being split across nodes. Sizing notes are in our addressable RGB LED strip guide, and our SP110E pixel controller drives it directly.
Not For — When to Ask Us for a Different SKU
Do not specify it anywhere the viewer gets close. Under about 2 m the pitch reads as a row of separate lamps instead of a line, so bar fronts, retail joinery, and interior coves need the denser WS2811 60 LEDs/m 12V, or our WS2812B 60 LEDs/m 5V where every emitter must be its own pixel.
Do not use it in an open cove with no diffuser. Three-LED grouping plus wide spacing gives scalloping on the ceiling, not a clean band. Use an addressable RGBIC COB strip for pixel control with a dotless face.
Plan the data chain before ordering. Pixel data passes through every IC in sequence, so a failed IC blanks that pixel and the entire run downstream of it. On a facade or sign that needs access equipment to reach, send us the layout and we will split it into separately fed segments so one fault cannot dark the whole elevation.
Unsleeved boards are indoor-only. Most projects in this category are exterior, so tell us the exposure and we will scope a sealed construction.
Customization & Inquiry
Pixel budget and controller channel capacity have to reconcile before anything else on an addressable job, so we work those out with you first. We adjust cut and reel length, PCB colour, tail-wire length, and pre-soldered signal and power connectors, and can deliver numbered fixture-length pieces so crews are not cutting pixel strip at height.
