The ES-COB-576-10MM-RGBIC does something a conventional pixel strip cannot: it puts motion on a line with no visible sources in it. On an SMD addressable strip the effect is carried by dots, and a chase reads as individual points travelling along the run. Here the driver ICs sit under the same unbroken phosphor line as the emitters, so a wave or gradient reads as light moving through a continuous edge. The resolution is set by how many emitters each IC governs rather than by anything the eye can pick out, which is why the strip suits schemes where the effect should look like lit architecture instead of like a display. It belongs to Senfey’s COB LED strip family.
Best For — Which Projects This Fits
- Bars, clubs and restaurant ceilings running scene changes and slow gradients through the evening, where the motion should read as architecture rather than as signage.
- Retail shopfronts and display joinery where an animated line draws attention but the hardware must stay invisible in the reveal.
- Coves and reveals close enough to the viewer that a dotted pixel strip would give the effect away.
- Installations with a controller already chosen — an SPI controller, art-net node or SPI-to-DMX bridge — that we build the strip to suit.
- Channels of 12 mm internal width or more, allowing a bead of adhesive each side of the board.
Not For — When to Ask Us for a Different SKU
The constraint that catches most projects is cutting. An addressable strip can only be cut at the boundary between IC groups, not at arbitrary marks, so fixture lengths have to be set out against the pixel pitch — a schedule of lengths drawn without it will not divide, and pieces cut mid-group go dark. Data is also directional: each segment feeds the next, so the strip has a first-pixel end that must face the controller, and a reversed section stays unlit. Over distance the signal degrades as well as the voltage, so long runs need repeaters at points we can mark for you. Beyond that, the IP20 construction rules out exterior and damp positions — ask us about a sealed pixel build. And where the brief has no movement in it, this is the wrong tool: a static RGB COB LED strip answers to a simple 4-pin decoder with none of the commissioning that pixel work carries.
