The ES-2835-120-8MM doubles the emitter count of the 60 LEDs/m build on the same 8 mm board, and the useful figure is pitch, not output: emitters sit roughly 8 mm apart rather than 17 mm. A diffuser must stand about as far off the board as the gap between emitters before dots blend into a line, so halving the pitch halves the channel depth needed. Hence this density is the default in cabinets and slim profiles, where nothing can stand off. It belongs to Senfey’s SMD LED strip range.
Best For — Which Projects This Fits
- Commercial and office linear ceilings behind an opal diffuser, where the line must read as even, not as a row of points.
- Cabinet, wardrobe and display joinery — shallow units where the diffuser sits close and a sparser strip would spot.
- General illumination, not decorative glow — the working light, not a secondary layer.
- Runs where voltage drop bites before driver capacity does; our 12V and 24V LED strip guide sets out the crossover.
- Profiles from 10 mm internal width, allowing adhesive each side of the board.
Not For — When to Ask Us for a Different SKU
The dots are closer together, not gone. At roughly 8 mm apart they still resolve at close range wherever there is no diffuser — a naked cove, a joinery lip seen from a metre away — and a dotless COB build answers those positions; our COB vs SMD comparison draws the line by application. Brightness is the other ceiling: a corridor with an illuminance figure to meet, workstation task light or a wall-wash wants the 240 LEDs/m build, which we can quote into the same channel. CRI 80 renders everyday light correctly but is wrong where colour gets judged against a sample — merchandise, food, artwork. IP20 and one fixed colour rule out damp and exterior positions, colour change and tunable white.
Customization & Inquiry
The change most often missed here is electrical. Twice the emitters draws close to twice the current, so a driver and injection layout drawn around the sparser build will not carry this one — the maximum run per driver comes down, and quietly — showing as a dim tail at the far end rather than an obvious fault. Send the schedule and we will work the loading through and mark where power must be injected. Beyond that we cut to your setting-out, pre-solder leads to length, and can build the board white or black to suit dark joinery.
