Project Overview
Outdoor neon flex defined the nighttime identity of a heritage residential and ancestral-hall complex inside a rural revitalization zone in Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province. Senfey supplied the full outdoor neon flex package — built on our neon LED strip platform — for three structures: a two-story principal residence, a single-story ancestral hall with traditional sloped tile roof, and 180 metres of perimeter courtyard wall outline. The project sits inside a county-level “Beautiful Village” demonstration zone, with the lit façade visible from the main county highway and from a hillside viewpoint two kilometres away.

Project Challenges
1. Single-color match across 920 metres and three buildings
The principal residence, the ancestral hall, and the perimeter wall outline read as one composition from the village highway. Any drift in gold tone or intensity between buildings would have been immediately visible at distance. The outdoor neon flex had to come from a single dye-lot to hold dominant wavelength inside ±2 nm across all 920 metres — the same single-batch discipline we applied on the round neon flex sculpture in Warsaw.
2. Long unbroken runs without voltage drop
The principal residence has continuous eaves runs exceeding 60 metres on the longer elevations. A 24V low-voltage outdoor neon flex would have required injection points every 5–8 metres with visible cabling. AC 220V neon flex allows 100 m per single drop with no mid-run injection, no visible cable, and one driver at the start of each run.
3. Plum rain season and typhoon tail exposure
Jiangxi sees a sustained April–June plum rain season with weeks of continuous high-humidity precipitation, plus the occasional typhoon tail bringing horizontal driving rain. Every joint, every connector, and every cable entry into the rectifier had to survive IP65 ingress under sustained pressure, not just brief shower exposure.
4. Rural infrastructure — minimal supply tap-points
The village electrical infrastructure provides limited AC tap-points without expensive trenching. The lighting design had to live within the existing 220 V single-phase service, with no dedicated step-down transformers and no additional sub-panels.
5. Three-day install on a live village street
The local festival opening date was fixed, and the principal residence sat on the village’s main street with active traffic and pedestrians below the scaffolding. The install crew had a hard three-day window to complete all 760 metres on the principal residence before scaffolding had to come down.
Product Highlights
1. AC 220V — 100 metres per drop, zero injection points
SF-NEON-AC220-RD13 runs directly off 220 V mains via a sealed bridge rectifier, supporting up to 100 metres per drop with no voltage drop and no mid-run injection. The single-cable approach is the reason this product dominates Chinese architectural outline projects — speed, simplicity, and clean lines.
2. Single dye-lot gold across all 920 metres
All 920 metres of outdoor neon flex were committed from one extrusion run with batch-matched LEDs, holding dominant wavelength inside ±2 nm. The principal residence, ancestral hall, and perimeter wall read as the same gold under both dusk and full-dark viewing conditions.
3. IP65 jacket plus IP67 tool-free connectors
The PVC jacket is rated IP65 against sustained rain, while every inline connector and rectifier joint is independently IP67-sealed with potted strain relief — qualified for the full plum-rain and typhoon-tail season common to Jiangxi. The same sealing system has held up on the addressable neon flex bridge in Riyadh KAFD under desert-storm exposure.
4. Stainless steel clip system for fast install
The SF-ACC-CLIP-RD13 stainless steel clip system — paired with the matching accessories and power supplies — lets the install crew screw-fix directly to the building’s existing trim and rafter ends, with no aluminum sub-frame fabrication and no on-site welding. The principal residence’s 760 metres were completed within the three-day window.
5. Wi-Fi scheduling with sunrise/sunset trigger
The SF-CTRL-WIFI-AC controller schedules the outdoor neon flex against local sunrise/sunset times automatically, with an override for festival nights. The village committee can extend operating hours from a phone without site visits.
Result
Fabrication and shipping closed in two weeks. On-site install was completed across the planned timeline:
- Days 1–3: Principal residence — 760 m of eaves, roof ridges, window outlines, and corner verticals
- Day 4: Ancestral hall — sloped tile roof outline and entrance accent
- Day 5: Perimeter wall outline + controller commissioning + sunrise/sunset scheduling
The complex lit up for the village’s spring festival opening and has been running on a dusk-to-23:00 schedule since. After eight months of operation — including the full plum rain season and one typhoon tail — the system has logged zero connector failures, zero visible color drift, and zero service calls. The county cultural bureau has referenced this outdoor neon flex project as a template for two adjacent ancestral hall restorations now in the design phase, joining our broader outdoor lighting case portfolio.
