Client Requirements & Challenge
The project site spans 438 hectares of extreme desert environment subject to frequent sand storms, sustained ambient temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius, direct irrigation water exposure from landscape maintenance, and intense UV radiation that degrades conventional polymer materials rapidly. The outdoor LED strip IP68 system required dynamic RGBW color control for major cultural events while maintaining a default warm white appearance for standard nightly operation — switching between modes needed to happen district-wide within minutes rather than hours. Furthermore, maintenance access across such a massive site presented significant operational challenges, as traditional fault-finding approaches would require maintenance crews to physically inspect tens of kilometers of pathway lighting to locate individual failures. Remote diagnostics capability became essential to minimize response times and maintain the visitor experience at the standard expected by Dubai Government.
